A new member to the 52 Stone Team

52 Stone Film Ltd is proud to announce the appointment of filmmaker James Poole as its new Head of Factual Development, strengthening the company’s commitment to creating bold, distinctive, and globally resonant factual content.

James Poole is a UK-based director and producer renowned for his work in sports documentaries and branded storytelling. His career to date has been defined by bringing to life the defining stories of elite athletes, exploring not just their achievements but the resilience, ambition, and character that shape who they are.

His most recent feature documentary, Szczęsny (Prime Video), chronicles Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny’s remarkable return from retirement to the highest levels of the game. Other credits include the four-part series Born to be a Wanderer, charting Bolton Wanderers’ dramatic revival; Impossibly Fast, following Olympic gold medalist and Ironman World Champion Kristian Blummenfelt’s record-breaking triathlon challenge in the Pho3nix Sub7/Sub8 Project; and The Pursuit (2018), which documented Team KGF’s disruptive entry onto the world stage of track cycling.

Alongside his documentary work, James has directed campaigns and branded films for some of the world’s leading companies, including Nike, Red Bull, Asics, Zwift, IWC, Fabergé, and Burberry.

In his new role at 52 Stone Film Ltd, James will spearhead the development of the company’s factual slate, shaping innovative documentary projects, forging international partnerships, and building on the company’s ambition to tell underrepresented and transformative stories for global audiences.
